Career Guidance Advocacy Program prospects National Career Development Support System

Assistant Secretary Dominique Rubia-Tutay expressed the Department’s appreciation of the continuous dedication and collaboration of the CGAP-WG (i.e., DepEd, DOST, CHED, CHED-UniFAST, TESDA, PRC, and the FCGANP Inc.) towards the development of the CGAPlan 2022-2027 during the 47th CGAP-WG Hybrid Meeting held on 21 April 2022 at the Century Park Hotel Manila and via Zoom Video Conferencing. She acknowledged the participation of resource persons from the Career Development Association of the Philippines (CDAP), and the Finnish Institute for Educational Research (FIER) and International Labour Organization (ILO). The said organizations help not just in our career guidance advocacy but also in key initiatives of the Department.

Baldoza, Chief Labor and Employment Officer of the Labor Market Information, Research, and Career Guidance Advocacy Division of the Bureau of Local Employment, shared insights about the Philippine Labor Market and crafting of the upcoming CGAP Advocacy Plan, which shall serve as a solid blueprint for career guidance advocacy that will ensure continuous learning, adapting, and thriving of our stakeholders in the post-pandemic future under a new administration.

The WG was joined by Mr. Joey Alejo of the CDAP and Dr. Raimo Vourinen of the FIER and ILO expert on career development support. Mr. Alejo talked about Understanding the Philippine Context and Roadmap to National Career Development Support System and Dr. Vourinen presented the International Context and Approaches in developing National Career Development Support Systems.
